Telework and Flexible Working for Large and
Small Organisations
There is a lot of interest today for
so-called New Ways of Working, also called eWork, Flexible Work or Telework, all
making intelligent use of ICT. Large and small organisations, business as well
as public, employer as well as employee, stand to win on such aspects as a more
flexible work organisation, better usage of real-estate, employee satisfaction,
shuttle travel problems, regional development, etc.
Practical tips for SMEs about starting
telework
In the scope of the European Commission FLEXWORK
project, a number of case studies have been gathered, analysis conducted and
methods developed, to help in fostering flexible working in small and medium
entreprises, also in rural or remote areas. A very complete “Flexwork Manual” is
available and practical steps will be reviewed.
E-education: progress, advantages and
pitfalls
The domain of e-learning and e-training is very
wide and booming, supported by the fantastic recent evolution of ICT. Many
schools, universities as well as entreprises and administrations face a lack of
knowledge as well as a lack of qualified teaching personnel, calling for new
methods to be developed. This conference will analyse some of the present
aspects of these developments, and also show the choices to be made and
difficulties encountered in real-life situations.
